Lance Cpl. George Rodriguez, 21, died in Vietnam on May 23, 1970. He was born August 14, 1948, to Manuel and Mary Rodriguez.

He graduated from Columbia High School in 1968. He joined the Marine Corps after high school and was sent to Vietnam. It was reported they were in the jungle, and he ran out of pills for malaria. Upon learning of his brother's death, David, who also had joined the Marines, accompanied George's body home for burial in Richland.

Rosary for George was at Christ the King Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at the church with the Very. Rev. William J. Sweeney officiating.

Full military graveside services were conducted by Company D. 4th Tank Battalion, USMC, Yakima. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Einan's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
