Peggy Alberta English went to be with Jesus on July 30, 2007, in Richland, WA, after a two-year plus battle with pancreatic cancer.

Peggy was born to Leslie and Beatrice Aungst, on August 1, 1941, in Portland, OR. She lived in Oregon and Washington before moving to Maryland for 11 years where she met her husband and then returned to Richland to reside for the next 30 years.

Peggy was an elementary and middle school teacher for 25 years, most recently at Chief Joseph Middle School in Richland. She appeared a number of times in Who's Who Among American Teachers. After retiring in 2001, she taught writing classes to home school groups. Throughout her life, she taught Sunday school classes for youth and led Bible studies for women.

Peggy was passionate about her faith in Christ, delighted in vacationing with her husband at the Oregon Coast, loved playing with her grandkids, was an avid reader of mysteries and Christian literature, enjoyed conversing with people, and was crazy about jigsaw puzzles and yard sales!

Her husband, Dick was by her side in life, with 39 years of marriage, and at her passing.

Peggy was preceded in death by a number of family members including her sons, Derek and Bill.

Surviving family members are her husband, Dick; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Steffani; three grandchildren, Christopher, Sylas, and Taryn; foster family: mom, Jeanne Irish; sisters, Carol (Rob) Wilson, Susie (Paul) Ulrickson; brothers, Rick (Barb) Irish, Ken (Terrie) Irish; and natural sister, Joanne Prindle.

The family would like to express appreciation to all the competent and caring staff at both Hospice and Kadlec Hospital CATH LAB for helping them through a very challenging time in their life.

We'll gather for an informal celebration of her life at Bethel Church, 600 Shockley Road (off of Keene Road) in Richland on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship - Peggy A. English Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1184, Richland, WA. 99352.
