Nadine Gay Stolp, 51, of West Valley City, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Nadine was born July 8, 1956 in Moses Lake, WA to Glenn and Nellie Ostler. She married Kenneth Edward Dick on December 18, 1975. Together they had one son, Calvin Francis Dick. They later divorced. Nadine then married Mark Don Stolp on June 21, 1980 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had nine children, during their 27 years of marriage.

Nadine was an active member of the LDS Church and served a mission to the Leeds, England Mission. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, who served most of her married life as a ward organist or pianist. She even was able to teach all of her children to play the piano. Nadine loved history and was an avid scriptorian. She even was able to teach one of her college history classes while her teacher was absent.

Together Nadine and Mark lovingly cared for their son Allen, who suffered from Cerebral Palsy from birth. Nadine was able to translate some selected verses of the Book of Mormon from the Greek language to English, which provided many new insights to the scriptures for her and her family. Nadine also home-schooled eight of her children, ranging from grades 1 through 12.

Nadine is survived by her husband, Mark, West Valley City; her children: Anne (Jimmy) Stevens, Allen, Julia, Leda, Helen, Brian, Nathan, Steven (Triplets), Valerie; two granddaughters, Lorien and Vanessa; parents: Glenn (Nancy) Ostler and Nellie Ostler; brothers: Lee (Stephanie) Ostler, Duane ('76) (Beth) Ostler, Dale ('78) (Julie) Ostler, Scott ('81) (Delene) Ostler, Mike (Chelsea) Ostler, sister: Doreen ('88) (Steve) Blanding, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her son, Calvin.

Funeral services for Nadine will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hunter West Stake Building, 2700 S. 6400 W., West Valley City, Utah, where a visitation will be held from 12:00- 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North "N" Street, Salt Lake City, UT.

The family would like to thank the wonderful medical professionals Jean, Maryanne, Kayla, Sarah and Scott. Special thanks to Mark's sister, Irene, for her loving care during the last year of Nadine's life.
