ELIZABETH ANNE "LIZ" DUNCAN ~ Class of 1998
April 24, 1980 - April 21, 2007

Liz Duncan - recently

Liz went to run with the angels on Saturday, April 21, 2007, as a result of a car/pedestrian accident in Seattle.

Liz was born in Richland on April 24, 1980, to Denny and Nanette Logg Duncan ('66). She graduated Richland High School excelling in academics and athletics. Starring in soccer, basketball, and track, Liz accepted an athletic scholarship to Washington State University where she majored and graduated with a degree in Biology. She was a "Coug" through and through. While there she met life-long friends and extended family who she loved dearly. There she began a devoted relationship with our Lord.

After graduation, not knowing exactly which path to take, she chose to accept an assignment to join staff with Athletes in Action and eventually accepted an assignment in Xenia, Ohio. Again, her passion for life and sharing God's message of salvation for all through Jesus Christ touched those around her. Eventually, Liz decided that her work there was complete and it was time for a new challenge with new scenery. Since her mother told her that she should never live farther than one day driving distance, she moved back to her home state of Washington in the summer of 2006.

She accepted a new career path with Brooks Sports Inc. With her never ending passion for sharing God's message in a calm and loving manner, she immediately made new friends who shared both her passion for running and her faith. Her hope and greatest desire is that we will all join her in heaven for a "fantastic" party. Over her short 26 years, Liz touched so many lives. Her love of God, family and friends was evident in all that she did and will be forever felt by her family and friends. We will carry her smile in our hearts forever. She is our baby, our sister, our friend, and now our angel.

Liz leaves behind her mother and father, Nanette and Denny, her brothers Terry and wife, Danielle, Jon and wife, Melissa, her nephews Devin, Alex and Lanson, and niece Kayla. Other special friends include God parents Mike and Michelle Stevenson and their children, special and long life friends Lindsey Jorgensen, Julie Vanni, extended parents Frank and Becky Jorgensen and a world of family and friends. Liz's love for God, family and friends has left an indelible mark on all who knew her. We will always love you "babycakes" and as you would have it, GO COUGS!

Liz loves vibrant flowers, lilies of the valley, gerber daisies, and lilacs and they would be a wonderful contribution for the celebration of her life. Donations can be made for the Athletes in Actions Scholarship Fund in Liz's honor through Brooks Sports. Checks can be made out to the "Liz Duncan Memorial Fund" and mailed to the address below:
