Millie Finch Gregg - recent

Our hearts go out to her husband, Glynn (NB); 2 daughters; son; granddaughters; grandson and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers Chuck and Bob ('51). Her most loving God peacefully took Mildred "Millie" Jean Finch Gregg, our beloved wife, mother, grandma, and Nana, to be with Him so that she can breathe freely and suffer no pain. God reached down his hand and guided her home on July 31, 2008. She was born May 26, 1936 in Espanola, NM, the youngest of three children of the late Hobart and Marjorie Finch.

After just three short months of dating, she married her husband (her true soul mate) Monty Glynn Gregg on January 10, 1955 in Lovington, NM, and became the devoted and loving mother to three children who she and Monty raised while living in Odessa, TX, Cap Rock, NM, Seattle, WA, Oroville, CA, and Pasco, WA.

She graduated from Columbia High School in 1954. Those who knew her understood that music was an important part of her life. For many years she played the piano and was an avid lover of all types of music; especially gospel.

Through the countless years she struggled with major health issues she continued to amaze those around her with her strength and ability to overcome such obstacles that would have toppled lesser persons. She was truly our "Wonder Woman".

Her deep and abiding faith in God led her to live a life full of hope, love, and charity. She inspired her children to follow God's teachings, to be all they could be, and to help others along the way. She and Monty "adopted" many young people as their sons and daughters throughout their lives and brought them into the bosom of their family. Young people seemed to flock to them as they felt their warmth, love, and devotion to each other, as well as their willingness to listen and share their wisdom and knowledge. Her inspiration is clearly shown in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, in-laws, grandson, Paul, and her beloved dog Tati.

She is survived by her children, Monte of Woodland, CA; Sharon of College Park, MD; and Scott (Theresa) of Kennewick, WA; by her grandchildren, Sherry (Jason) Apfel of Kennewick, WA, and Britny, Chelsi, and Brandon Gregg Kennewick, WA; by her great-grandchildren, Xander and Xiana Apfel, Kennewick, WA; by her siblings, Charles (Ellie) Finch ('50), Winston-Salem, NC, and Robert (Willene) Finch ('51), Pasco, WA; "little brother" Mark (MaryAnn) Finch ('62) of Antioch, CA and "little sister" Mary (Myrl) Miller ('63) of Odessa, WA; nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous cherished friends.
