Shirley Anne Davis Lawrence-Berrey, 72, of Parkersburg, died December 3, 2010, at Wyngate Assisted Living.

She was born in Memphis, TN, a daughter of the late Edward Shirley and Julia Elizabeth Brown Davis.

She worked as a public nurse for several years in Washington state, and volunteered for American Red Cross for 30 years. During her time volunteering for the Red Cross she served as chapter Chairman for several years, was a member of the Clara Barton Society for Service, and was Chair of Heroes of the Red Cross Fundraising Campaign. She also served on WVU-P Foundation Board for several years, Trinity Episcopal Church Vestry, and United Way Board.

She is survived by her three children, Robert E. Lawrence-Berrey Jr. and wife, Kristi, of Yakima, WA, Ruth Beckwith and husband, Ray, of Tacoma, WA, and Julie Snow of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Raeanne, Alyssa, Jessi, Erik, Nikki, Andrew, Lauren, Mikey and Katie; and sister, Gloria Davis Tinder ('61) and her husband, Dr. Richard Tinder, of Pullman, WA.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmond Lawrence-Berrey.

A memorial service will be 11am Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the memorial room at the church.

Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
