Chuck Buescher ~ recent

Charles Louis Buescher, 84, of Kennewick passed away peacefully following a long illness on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, with his family by his side.

Chuck was born September 28, 1928, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the oldest child of Louis J. and Naomi Buescher. He moved with his family to Richland in 1944. Chuck graduated from Columbia High School in 1947, the school where his mother Naomi taught math.

Chuck met and married Helen Wilson in October of 1949. They were married almost 64 years. They had three sons: Charles, Howard, and James. In 1950, Chuck went to work at Hanford. While at Hanford he worked as a lead nuclear process operator and shift manager until he retired in 1988. Chuck has been a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church since 1956.

Chuck loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. At one time, he had a vacation home in Packwood where he enjoyed watching the wildlife and the great outdoors. He loved all animals, especially the many pet dogs he had throughout his life. His family will remember his collections of cowboy boots and golf equipment.

Chuck will be remembered for his love of family, his story telling, and his laughter. He could talk for hours about his family, his friends, and his work – always with a twinkle in his eyes. He truly leaves many fond memories to all of those who were touched by his life.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi and Louis Buescher.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, and sons: Charles (Susan), Howard, and James (Connie); six grandchildren: Candice (Chris), Brandice, Joshua, Jonathon, Brooke, and Wanda; sisters Shirley ('48) Buescher Diehl and Margaret ('51) Buescher (Bob) Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thanks to the staff at Kennewick Life Care for their help and support.

Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 520 S Garfield Street, on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Viewing and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 12pm, and Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm.
