May 29, 1945 - October 31, 2015

Cheri Bowlin - 1963 - Sr. Portrait ~ Cheri Bowlin Tabaka ~ recent

Cheri passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, after seven months of battling pancreatic cancer. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, on May 29, 1945, she was proud of her Alaskan heritage and felt it made her a stronger, more capable person.

Cheri operated a small business during the '70s and '80s where she took photos of Santas with kids in most of the local malls for 16 years and became known as the "Santa Lady." In 1987, Cheri bought a small sports photography business which started as a one person business and grew to become Northwest Sports Photography (NSP) with nearly 100 employees doing sports photography work in three states. She and her husband, Larry, worked this business together for 28 years before retiring in 2012.

Cheri's passions were the NSP business, her four beloved grandchildren and her 1890 farmhouse in Beaverton, OR.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Larry Tabaka; daughters: Lisa Morrison Larson and Laura Morrison; beloved grandchildren: Lexi, Eric, Maddie, and Jackson; and dear stepchildren: Paul, Mike, and Laurie Tabaka.

An interment was held in the Helvetia Community Church in North Hillsboro.
