Jim Andersen ~ recent

Jim passed away on September 15, 2015, in Richland. He was born in Richland on May 24, 1956, to Elton and Irma Andersen.

He attended Christ the King elementary school, Carmichael Jr. High, and Columbia High School in Richland (where he was in the National Honor Society and in gymnastics). Jim went to college at Washington State University in Pullman, Columbia Basin College, and Spokane Falls Community College (where he studied photography). He moved to Spokane while he was attending college there.

He moved back to the Tri-Cities in 2006 to help take care of his father, Elton.

For recreation, Jim enjoyed listening to old albums, watching old movies, and reading car magazines. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends the Donnell and Brodaczynski families. Jim loved animals, and could be counted on to babysit the pets of family and friends. Jim was an exceptionally helpful person. If any of his friends or family needed help, he was the first to volunteer. He was very personable, generous, conscientious, and sensitive. He was just a wonderful man, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Irma Andersen.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia ('69) (David) Venier.

A memorial service was held at Sunset Gardens in Richland.
