November 21, 1973 - April 7, 2015

Jennifer Rodriquez Praino ~ recent

Jennifer passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born November 21, 1973, in Richland to Vesta Franklin Rodriquez and Tony Rodriquez.

Jen attended Richland schools and graduated from Richland High School in 1992. She remained a dedicated fan of Bomber sports and music. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Columbia Basin College.

She worked for many years as a paralegal until a career change in 2009 brought her to CH2M Hill working as a chemical management specialist. Most recently, she was promoted to interface management specialist.

Jen was deeply devoted to her family, never missing any of her children’s school or sporting events. This devotion also extended to nieces and nephews, always generous with her time and praise.

In 2012 she converted to Catholicism at the Easter Vigil. She married her best friend, Tim, August 31, 2013. Although their time together was cut short, they filled it with constant activity, taking their family on several road trips in the motorhome. She felt so blessed and thankful for the opportunity to have their entire family together in Disneyland and San Diego in February of this year.

Jen listened intently and with her heart. Beautiful inside and out, her grace and vibrant spirit inspired all who knew her. Throughout her 21 month battle with cancer, her courage and sense of humor never faltered. Always concerned with the well-being of those around her, she was truly amazing. She will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death are grandparents Halsey Franklin, Ramon Rodriquez, Sr. and Martina Rodriquez, and cousins John Kranz, Steven Rodriquez, Chico Rodriquez, Daniel Palomino; stepbrother Dan Jernigan; stepfather Rick Slater ('67) ; grandfather John Franklin; mother-in-law Mary Praino.

She is survived by her husband Tim Praino ('89) and their children: Kirsten and Mitchell Jackson, and Madison, Morgan and Easton Praino; parents Vesta Franklin Slater and Tony Rodriquez (Pat), brother Tony (Jenny) Rodriquez, an extensive extended family and numerous friends.

Viewing was at Einan’s funeral home on April 13, 2015, followed by a Rosary. A funeral Mass was held at Christ the King Church on April 14, 2015. Internment followed and a reception followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice in Jennifer’s name.

When you can put someone ahead of your needs or wants then you are truly living the life God gave to you. ----Jennifer
