Zack Christian - 1997 - Junior ~ Zack Christian - 1998 - Sr. Portrait ~ Zack Christian ~ recent

On June 22, 2016, after a short and courageous battle with a rare and highly aggressive colon cancer (neuroendocrine carcinoma), Zack, 36, passed away. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on January 7, 1980, to Craig and Janet Christian.

His family moved to Richland where he attended Badger Elementary, Carmichael Middle School and Richland High School. His senior year, playing football for RHS, Zack went to state with his team winning the 1997-1998 championship. Zack met Kori Hedquist, the love of his life, at Richland High, where they graduated in 1998.

Zack enjoyed many things in life, such as music, art, gaming, and making and keeping many life-long friends. Zack loved scouting and all things outdoors including football, baseball, hunting, firearms, fishing, and water sports.

Shortly after his mission, and hers, Zack and Kori were married in the Columbia River Washington Temple on January 26, 2002. Zack and Kori have two beautiful daughters, Alizabeth Tate and Makenzie Mae. They moved to Nebraska where Zack attended Omaha School of Massage Therapy. He worked as a massage therapist while attending the University of Nebraska to begin the process of earning a Diagnostic Imaging degree.

Together they moved back to Richland and Zack attended Columbia Basin College where he completed his Associate of Arts and Science degree, as well as his Diagnostic Imaging X-ray Technician degree. Zack served many patients at HPMC Hanford as an X-Ray Tech and MED Tech. He dedicated many hours to earn his specialization as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technician and worked at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland and Deaconess Hospital in Spokane as an MRI Tech.

When Zack moved back to Richland, he and Kori became the proud business owners of Eden Day Spa and served many people in the Tri-Cities community.

Zack will be remembered as a fun-loving guy who loved to fish and hunt, spend time with his family, and who always looked out for those with whom he came in contact. Zack left this world knowing that families are forever.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Beverly Christian, Marlin and Iva Green, and his uncle Chick Green.

Zack is survived by his loving wife Kori ('98); his two daughters Alizabeth Tate and Makenzie Mae; his parents Craig and Janet Christian; siblings Jake ('94)(Shelly), Ezra ('95)(Hayley), Carina ('00)(Jeremy Anderson), Tyler ('03)(Crystal), and Jessica ('10)(Dan Meyer); his mother and father-in-law, Kristian and Kathy Hedquist; several nephews, nieces, cousins; and many friends.

A Celebration of Life was held on July 2, 2016, at the LDS Stake Center in Richland.
