Ann had come home from WSU for the Christmas holiday and went caroling with some of her friends. She apparently wasn't dressed warmly enough and got double bronchial pneumonia. She was taken to Kadlec Hospital and passed away on January 15th, 1958.

Her father died 11 years later on January 15, 1969.
