Private First Class Marcia Kay Setbacken, 19, died Sunday, November 5, 1967, in Ft. Riley, KS as a result of carbon monoxide asphyxiation. Marcia and 22-year old Spec. 4 John "Jay" Williamson ('63) were found dead in a parked car.

She was born in Wapato, WA on July 11, 1948, and attended Richland schools including Sacajawea Elementary and Carmichael Junior High, graduating from Columbia High in 1966. Marcia joined the U. S. Army in September, 1966.

Jay was a military policeman and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Williamson. Marcia was a PFC dental assistant specialist assigned to the Irwin Hospital Dental Detachment at Ft. Riley, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Setbacken who moved to San Jose about a year ago.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Setbacken and siblings: Gary ('64), Gail ('66), Sharon ('68wb), and Michael ('78wb). Services were held on Thursday, November 9, 1967, at Oak Hill Mortuary in San Jose, CA.
