PETER IRVIN HARMON ~ Class of 1968

Peter Harmon, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent M. Harmon of Richland died November 29, 1970, in Nagoya, Japan.
His parents were informed Saturday night that Peter died of a heart attack about 7am. He was serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Peter was born May 8, 1950, in Richland and attended Richland's Columbia High School where he was vice president in his senior year, a member of the honor society and of the Key Club. He graduated in 1968.
He was a Life Scout and had participated in athletics while in high school.
Peter attended Brigham Young University before becoming a missionary. He had been in Japan about 18 months and would have returned home in June.
He is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin W. Harmon; siblings, David Kent Harmon ('61), Claudia Harmon (Marvin) ('63) Gale, Christy Ileene Harmon ('67), and Gary Louis Harmon ('71).
Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
