BOMBER MEMORIAL
RICHARD LOPEZ "RICKY" RODRIGUEZ ~ Class of 1973
January 28, 1954 - October 2, 2000
Richard, 46, was born January 28, 1954, in Harlingen, TX. He passed away peacefully with his family at his sice on October 2, 2000, in Kennewick due to complications of kidney failure.
He attended Richland schools throughout his lifetime. He grew up in West Richland on Riverside Drive and cherished those childhood friends and memories. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany and was a former member of Sons of the American Legion and VFW.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuael Rodriguez, and his brother George Rodriguez ('69).
Richard is survived by his soul mate, Mary Zarate and family, daughter Dena Moon and twin granddaughters Zaire and Zianna; mother, Mary Rodriguez; siblings: David ('69) (Linda), Michael, and Mary Elizabeth (Stanley); nieces Angela, Teresa, and Michelle; and countless friends and relatives.
He would cook you a gourmet meal, share his beer, and tell you a fish tale. He enjoyed motorcycle and car racing, and singing and playing the guitar. He was a wonderful artist, even painting window murals for businesses at Christmas time. His sense of humor was infectious and his laugh something to smile about. Richard always lived life on the edge, doing things his way, and his family and friends will miss his free spirit and loving heart.
The family wishes to thank his many friends for the support shown during his illness, especially to Galen Webunsee, who was by his side until the end.
We are thankful you do not have to suffer any more and we will see you again one day, Mr. Bond. Love, MoneyPenny, and Goldfinger.
Recitation of the Rosary was on October 4, 2000, at Einan's Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial was held October 5, 2000, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception followed the interment service at V.F.W. Cook-Erickson Post 7952, Richland.
