David L. Isakson, age 56, of Richland, passed away as a result of complications with pneumonia at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland on May 12, 2001. David was born in Ellensburg, WA on July 30, 1944, to Percy and Violet Isakson.
David graduated from Columbia High School in 1963. He attended Columbia Basin College and went to work at the Hanford site in 1967 as an engineer.
David was an active member of Richland Lutheran Church serving in many various ways. He was a Growth Group leader, Stephen Minister, Good News Media Ministry Camera Operator and Photographer, and most recently, was actively involved in the church camp committee.
He was baptized, confirmed and married his wife, Gretchen, at Richland Lutheran Church.
David was an avid sports fan, worked many years as a youth sports volunteer and was a dog enthusiast. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Percy Isakson.
David is survived by his wife, Gretchen; his son, Pete and daughter-in-law, Kelly of Troy, ID; his daughter, Kristin of San Diego, CA; his mother, Violet A. Isakson; his sister, Barbara Isakson Rau ('58); his aunt, Elsie Smith of Spokane; his aunt, Sally Isakson of Malo, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at the Richland Lutheran Church. Visitation was Einan’s.
