Katherine "Kathy" Gire Hurt, 55, of West Richland, passed away September 1, 2003 at her home. She was born on June 1, 1948 in Richland to Lester Sr. and Ann Gire.

She worked as a technician for G.T.E. and retired in November 1997. She was a member of the VFW #7952 Ladies Auxiliary and a life time member of WOTM #1377 in West Richland. She was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Kathy is survived by her husband Robert at home, her mother Ann Gire, sister Ruth Yearout (Rick); brothers Bill (Marion); L.L. Gire Jr.; Ed (Patty); Terry; Laurie and Tim Larkin, Becky Myers and Rob Hurt, also step-grandsons Robert and Mathew.

A memorial mass was held on Wednesday September 3, 2003 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Donations may be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336 or Christ the King Building Fund, 1126 Long Ave. Richland, WA 99352. Please, no flowers. A private inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
