PATRICIA "PAT" AESCHLIMAN ROBERTS ~ Class of 1957
January 12, 1939 - November 18, 2006
~
Patricia was born January 12, 1939 in St. Joseph, MO to Herbert and Mildred Fore Aeschliman.
She was married on August 2, 1957 to Air Force fighter pilot/flight instructor Lt. Lionel "Robbie" Roberts ('52) who passed away August 1, 2004 (his 70th birthday). Pat traveled with Robbie wherever the Air Force sent him. During their life together she had the opportunity to travel throughout the Orient (Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand) and all over the United States.
Pat was preceeded in death by both her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her three children; Keith (Janet) of San Pedro, CA; Kathi (Tom) Freedman of Huntsville, AL; and Kyle (Celeste) of Washington, DC; her brother, Larry ('60) of Kennewick, WA; her sister, Sue Aeschliman DeMerchant ('62) of Everett, WA; and 5 grandchildren; Katelyn Roberts (19), Bryce Roberts (15), Geoffrey Freedman (17), Piper Roberts (5) and Wyatt Roberts (2).
Her family was the most important thing to her and she was loved dearly in return. She was happy to spend her final days in her own home with her family gathered around her.
She will be burried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA on May 14, 2007 at 1:00pm.
There will be a ceremony at the Old Post Chapel. The ceremony at the chapel takes about 20 minutes after which 1 or 2 family members speak briefly. Then they’ll drive to the permanent set up used with Pat's husband where there will be a brief 5-minute "commitment ceremony". Then they will walk to the grave site.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking friends and family who wish to make a donation in her name to please send it to the Hospice people who took such good care of her the last few days before she passed away.
