CINDY ELLOUISE FANKHAUSER ~ Class of 1979
July 3, 1959 - December 7, 2006

Grandview, Wash. Cindy Ellouise Fankhauser was born July 3, 1959, in Salem, OR, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 7, 2006, in Grandview, WA.

Cindy spent her first 35 years in Richland where she graduated from Richland High School in 1979.

Cindy loved everyone; especially the children she worked with and her nieces and nephews who adored her. Cindy loved spending time doing jigsaw puzzles and was proud of the many medals she won bowling in the Special Olympics.

Cindy was loved and will be missed by many friends and family members whose lives were blessed by her servant heart, big smile and infectious laughter.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Ed Fankhauser and is survived by her mother, Joanne, sister, Carole (Mark) Cox of Parma, ID; brothers, John (Beth) Fankhauser of Ventura, CA; Don (Jeri) Fankhauser of Richland; and her nieces and nephews, Joanna, Erica, Rebecca and Sarah Cox, Josh, Bethany and Rebekah Fankhauser; Jake and Carly Fankhauser.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Grandview Rehabilitation Center for the care and attention given to Cindy.

The family suggests memorial contribution be made to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Organization (5700 Midnight Pass RD 6, Sarasota, FL 34242) or the Bethany Presbyterian Church (201 Birch, Grandview, WA).

Burial will be at the Friends Cemetery in Newberg, OR, where Cindy's father is buried.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
