David D. Carlson of Edmonds, Washington, passed away at his home on May 24, 2007 from esophageal cancer. He was born in Minot, ND in 1941. David grew up in Richland, WA and was a talented vocalist in High School. After college he began his career, working to become a successful and well respected commercial insurance broker specializing in complex insurance programs, especially municipalities. His hobbies included playing music, photography and boating in Puget Sound. He adored his four sons, his friends and family and was a remarkable host known for his barbecue skills. He will be remembered as a loyal father, a hard worker and a fun-loving, intelligent friend.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Husby Carlson, of Edmonds; their two sons, Mikal and Matthew of Portland, OR; as well as sons, David of Huntington Beach, CA, Daniel of LaJolla, CA; and their mother, Kit Snoble. He also leaves behind his brother, William James Carlson; sisters, Alma Carlson Rau ('49) and Charlotte Carlson Terry ('52); as well as his much loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes & Ernie Carlson, of Tri-Cities, WA; as well as brothers, Gordon and Ernest Carlson.
Entombment Services will take place at 11am on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Hollyrood Cemetery (205 NE 205th St. Shoreline, WA). It will be followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Edmonds Convention Center (201 Fourth Avenue North Edmonds, WA).
