John Michael Williams died of mesothelioma, asbestos cancer, at home on October 22, 2007 surrounded by his family.

John was born on April 17, 1946 in Yakima, WA to Lora and Clifford Williams. They moved to Richland that same year.

He graduated from Columbia High School, Richland, WA in 1964, served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1968, and graduated from Washington State University in 1973 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

On June 7, 1966 John married Ivadell "Ivy" Pratt. They had two children, Corey and Kelsie.

John is survived by his loving wife and partner Ivy; children Corey (Jen) and Kelsie Parham (Tim); and grandchildren Bethany, Rylan, Savannah and Kassity; sister Judy Williams Clem ('61) and her family (Kirt, Eric, Aaron, Christine, Christopher and Easton); sister Carol Williams Batson ('56); brother Mark Williams and his family (Debbie, Chris, Nathan, Jennifer, and Donnie); sisters-in-law Juanita Tennell (Bill); Glenna Byers and her family (Jon, Kori, Dawn and Aaron); brother-in-law Glenn Pratt (Cindy); and numerous other family and friends who will miss him.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law David Clem ('58-RIP).

A heart-felt thank you to the many people who touched John's life during this difficult time.

Viewing will be on Friday, October 26, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Memorial Service to follow on Saturday, October 27, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Einan's Funeral Home.
