R. JEANNINE HOUSTON WILLIS ~ Class of 1954
January 12, 1936 - February 15, 2008
~
'...and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.'' And so our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, R. Jeannine Willis, passed peacefully from her earthly home on Friday, February 15th, 2008, to be with her loving Lord and Savior.
Jeannine was born on January 12th, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated in 1954 from Columbia High (now Richland High). She was gone from Richland for several years but when she returned, she was immediately involved with class reunion projects, monthly lunches with gals from her class which she enjoyed immensely. And, she was always available to go to lunch with a friend.
She married Paul E. Willis on July 31st, 1955. They were blessed with three children; Kevin and twins Kerry and Kelly. Jeannine was a retired school district administrator at Western Washington University.
Jeannine leaves a big hole in the lives of her family and the many friends that loved her. She attended Bethel Church and was involved in many of the activities. For several years she attended Joy In The Morning, a women's ministry. She gained many friends in those years, who will miss her greatly. She was always available and was the first one there when help was needed in putting together mailings and helping in any way she could with other projects. She was also a member of the Bethel Classics Care Group.
She is loved and will be missed by her brother Scott Houston ('63) and wife Robin, son Kevin and wife Joey, son Kerry (Willie) and wife Vicky, and daughter Kelly. The Grandchildren she loved dearly include Nori and husband Curt, Cody, Katie, Trevor and Stephanie, Amy, Erika, Samantha, Alyssa, Ben, and Zachary. Her Great-grandchildren were such a joy to her and she truly loved Nathaniel, Kaylee, Ashlynn and Chase.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul and parents Bill and Ruby Louis Houston.
Viewing will be at Einan's Funeral Home on Friday, February 22nd, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, at 10:30 am at Bethel Church in Richland, WA.
