BRITTANY ANN HOLLENBACH ~ Class of 2006

Brittany Ann Hollenbach passed away tragically in an accident November 11, 2009.

Brittany was a well-loved senior at the University of Washington, majoring in Economics and Construction Management. She had a tremendous love of life, a big, beautiful smile and in her too short life, had accomplished many exceptional achievements.

Brittany was born December 20, 1987, in Monterey, CA. Weighing 21 ounces at birth, she proved from her beginning that she was a tremendous life force. Brittany attended elementary schools in California, Taiwan and Singapore before moving to Richland where she graduated from high school in 2006. She was a talented member of the varsity swim team for four years, and was on the state-winning 200 meter free style relay team in 2006.

As well as being a successful student at the University of Washington, Brittany played an active role in the Delta Delta Delta soriority, which was her home away from home and where she served as the vice president of finance. Brittany loved people and enjoyed learning about other cultures. She traveled widely and had visited all but one continent.

Brittany will most be remembered for her passion for life, commitment and loyalty toward her many friends, her strong relationship with her parents, her impressive work ethic and her contagious joy and laughter. Brittany was adored by her parents, Ken and Amanda Hollenbach, who live in Houston, TX. She was also greatly loved by her aunts and uncles, Fritz and Claire Hollenbach of Penticton, Canada, Janet and Ramsay Thomas of Lafayette, CA, Bill Abbott and Barbara Hollenbach of Lafayette, CA, Kathy Madlem and Tim Toohey of Sebastopol, CA and Tim Roberts of Baker City, OR. She leaves cousins who were among her best friends: Sammy, Carl, Tyler, Scotty, Joey, Annie, Nicole, Riley, Amy, Mary, Kris, Mike and Ryan.

There was a candlelight vigil at University of Washington on November 12, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brittany Hollenbach Charitable Fund. Checks should be made out to Delta Delta Delta and sent to Kera O'Reilly at 790 Idylwood Drive SW, Issaquah, WA 98027.
