February 11, 1937 - January 13, 2009

Myrna Hoover - circa 1969

Myrna Marlene Hoover, 71, passed away on January 13, 2009, in Kennewick. She was born on February 11, 1937, in LeMar, CO, to Bill and Martha Hoover. Myrna came to the area in 1942 at the age of five where she and her family lived at Camp Hanford. As a teenager, she learned to fly airplanes with her father. She took her first solo flight at the young age of 17.

While living in the Tri-Cities area, Myrna worked many jobs. She was a waitress, she worked at McVickers Jewelers, she worked in the banquet room at the Hanford House along side her mother, she worked as a bookkeeper, and she also worked in retail. Some of her favorite hobbies were painting and going to the ocean. One of her fondest memories are those of her children when they were young playing with their family poodle.

Myrna is survived by daughter, Royceanne Yourdan (Joseph), of Kamiah, ID; two sons, David Harrow (Lisa), of Kennewick and Jeff Harrow, of Yakima; two grandchildren, Matthew and Shelby; sister, Dolores Hoover Stoner ('53), brother, Curtis Hoover ('57) (Sharon), and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Jason David Rockwell.

The family would like to thank Dr. Khawandi, Dr. Clar de Jesus, the wonderful nurses and staff at Kennewick General Hospital, the very caring staff at the Columbia Basin Dialysis Clinic, the staff at Addus Healthcare, and especially Heather... the care you showed our Mother will always be remembered.

There will not be a service at this time... a private family and friends gathering will be scheduled sometime in March.
