MARY LYNN WILLOUGHBY TRIMBLE ~ Class of 1958
August 14, 1939 - August 1, 2009
Mary passed away unexpectedly in her home in Seattle, WA at the age of 69 on Saturday August 1, 2009. She was born August 14, 1939 in San Angelo, TX to Stuart R. and Jewel J. Willoughby.
She was the most giving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend to all she loved. She lived life to the fullest by doing things that helped others. She was a retired nurse, master gardener, educator, avid reader and loved to crochet. Although Mary left us too suddenly and too soon, she will live in our hearts forever.
Mary attended schools in Richland, WA; Academy of the Immaculate Heart in Cour d'Alene, ID (with her friend Ruth Perkins), and San Angelo (Central) High School in San Angelo, TX.
She married Ed Amaral in Richland in 1958 and they had three children Ava, Anita, and Aaron. After their divorce in 1972 she attended Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA and worked as an LPN until she retired. Mary married Dorsey "Butch" Trimble in Benton City, WA in 1977. After Butch’s sudden death in a car accident in 1980, Mary and her children continued to live in Benton City until after Aaron graduated. Mary lived in the Tri-Cities until April 2009 when she moved to an Apartment in Seattle. She was enjoying being close to her youngest grandson, Aticus, living life to the fullest, and was looking forward to celebrating her 70th birthday on August 14.
Mary was preceded in death by both her parents, a sister Wanetta Willoughby ('49), brothers Floyd Willoughby ('51) and Stuart "Rennie" Willoughby ('55).
She is survived by children, Ava (Jeff), Anita (Dave), Aaron (Aimee); beloved grandchildren, Sean (Shar), Matthew, Lynnsey (Michael), Connor, Atticus; great-grandchildren, Ozzie, Olivia, and Jaycee; two sisters Jessie Willoughby Davis ('60) (J.J.) and Sharon Willoughby Movick ('62) (James) of Kennewick; sisters-in-law Donna Maupin Willoughby ('51) of Richland, Marie Sloppy Willoughby of Kennewick, WA; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and other friends with whom she spent time along the path of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Knitty Gritty Yarn; 1340 GWWay; Suite B; Richland, WA 99354; 509 942-7295; "Mary Trimble Memorial Fund". Money from donations will be used by crocheters and knitters to create warm caps for the needy.
We will miss Mary so much.
