CHARLES "TED" OGSTON ~ Class of 1962
June 11, 1944 - April 16, 2009
~
Born on June 11, 1944, in Oakridge, TN, Ted graduated from Columbia High School in 1962. He went on to work at Yellowstone National Park before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ted finished a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1966 and again answered the call of duty in 1992, serving in the first Gulf War.
When he returned home from Southeast Asia he met his wife, Patti Ogston, with whom he would spend the next 39 years. He dedicated 27 years to Boeing in order to support his quickly growing family. Ted and Pat would have 4 children in 5 years; Brian, Steve, Troy and Andrea.
He was a long time union activist and deeply committed to his IBEW brothers and sisters at Boeing and Northwest Airlines. Ted embraced his civic duty, never failing to volunteer for any and every event to support his fellow workers.
He was enjoying his long-deserved retirement, traveling the world, and spending time with his two beloved grandchildren, Racelyn Roberson and Oliver Ogston, as well as his daughter-in-law, Tracy. Ted had found great travel companions and fellow life adventurers in Beth & Joe Matthias. Service details to follow.
