Janet Walsh McGowan was born February 13, 1950 in Yakima to Alton and Zoe Walsh. She passed away on March 7, 2009 in Richland.

Janet is survived by her mother, Zoe Walsh of Richland, and by her husband, Jim McGowan and son Brian McGowan, both of Colville.

She received her nursing degree at Spokane Community College in 1974. Janet loved her nursing career and worked in many health care facilities in Washington, Colorado, New Hampshire, Illinois and South Dakota. She made many good friends along the way and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

A private memorial service is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that any remembrances be sent to support breast cancer research.
