Marv Rossi - 1951

Marv Rossi - old picture

The Lord blessed this earth with Marvin Delano Rossi on May 6, 1933. He was born to Rico and Anna Marie Rossi at the Richland Y in the state of Washington. He was the youngest of four children, Rita being the oldest, Albino, Julio (Red Moreno), and then Marv.

Marv loved to fish for Bass and hunt for pheasant. He was a self-taught gardener. Every year he planted a huge, beautiful garden that he shared with everyone from family to neighbors and even strangers. He was known for his big, beautiful, juicy, red tomatoes that he loved so dearly and everyone who ate them enjoyed them as much. His happiest times were spent outdoors.

Marv spent several years in the service of his country during the Korean War as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He spent the working years of his life outdoors working construction for Lydig Construction Company as a labor foreman. He was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America since June 17, 1957.

He married Lilas Lorraine Baker-King in 1960 in Emmett, Idaho. He helped to raise his three step children, Jerry, Donna, and Ginger. He was blessed with two more children with Lilas; Rod and Marcia. Marv and Lilas loved to dance and shared the same love for gardening.

Marv is survived by his devoted daughter, Marci, and her equally devoted husband, Don Keller; his stepdaughter, Donna, and her husband, Stu Edwards; his stepdaughter, Ginger. His strong will and laughing smile will be missed by all of his grandchildren: Lisa, Stevi, Nikki, Nicole (baby Isaiah), Bobbie, Riki, Richelle, Ashlynn, Heidi, William, Cathy, Michael, Sandra, and Jenny.

His beloved son, Rod, passed away in 1998; his beloved wife, Lilas, passed away in 2001.

Marv passed away peacefully in his sleep at home from heart failure on October 9, 2010 at the age of 77. May he rest in peace. We will miss you, Dad.
