EDMUND C. RODDY JR. ~ Class of 1952

Edmund C. Roddy Jr. (75), a long-time resident of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on July 15, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA August 9, 1934, Ed, with his family, relocated to Richland, WA in 1951 where he graduated from Columbia High School and attended Columbia Basin College. He worked for General Electric as a Programmer in their Data Processing Department at Hanford Atomic Products Operations in Richland before being transferred to Tacoma, WA and later to Phoenix, AZ.
Ed spent the remainder of his career with Honeywell who had purchased the Computer Division, advancing to Senior Systems Analyst before retiring in 1994. He spent his retirement years traveling and enjoyed spending time with his family. His favorite place to visit was Disneyland which he frequented often from its opening and thoroughly enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren there to experience their excitement with them.
Preceded in death by his wife Helene Hash Roddy, parents Thelma and Edmund C. Roddy, Sr., and sister Elinor Claire Roddy,
Ed is survived by his wife Virginia, his daughter Barbara Callister, son Michael Roddy (Lindy), son Edmund C. Roddy, III (Heidi), daughter Karen Roddy, son Robert Roddy, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous step-children, brothers Russell ('55) Roddy (Sandy) and Richard ('70) Roddy (Beth), sisters Carol ('60) Coffman (Richard) and Marcia ('73)Bendewald (Craig), and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donationa to your favorite charity in Ed's memory.
Visitation was Tuesday July 20, 2010 from 5-8pm at the Best Funeral Services' West Valley Chapel, Peoria, AZ.
Services will be at the same location Wednesday July 21, 2010 at 9am followed by interment at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ (Hwy 101 & Central)
