James Paul McDonald, 72, of Algonac, Michigan, passed away suddenly on April 8, 2010, in Casey, IL, while enroute to Michigan from Palm Springs, CA.
He was born on January 18, 1938, the son of Floyd William McDonald and Mary Viola Coleman, who preceded him in death.
Since retiring from a successful Ophthalmology practice in Long Beach, CA, he had enthusiastically pursued his interest in travel and real estate.
He is survived by his marriage partner, Tony Garvonic; son, Grant (Cheryl) McDonald of North Bend, WA; daughter, Jilleen (Rick) Roberts of San Marino, CA; brother Charles ('52)(Shirley) McDonald of Kennewick, WA; sister Dorothy ('53)(Stan ('53)) McDonald of El Cajon, CA; sister Doris (Reynold) Bourquin of Newcastle, WA; four grandchildren: Evan, Cameron, and Owen Roberts and Charley McDonald; thirteen nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Private services were held in California. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association and National Kidney Foundation.
