Willa June Gardner Shea, aka "Granny", passed away at home, in Spokane, on August 21, 2010. She was born at home in Southwest City, MO, June 20th, 1938 to Wade and Leona Gardner. She moved to Washington as a young girl with her family and lived most of her life in Richland.
Willa graduated from Columbia High School in 1956, completed Cosmetology School in the early 1970s and made a career as a hair dresser. June owned and managed Dolls and Dudes Beauty Salon in Richland for many years before retiring in 1998. In 1999 she moved to Olympia then Spokane to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was passionately involved in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren.
She also loved cooking, sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Gerald and Kenny ('54).
She is survived by her daughter Kathi Shea and grandchildren Natalie, Nathan and Mary, Niki and Big J. Granny also touched the lives of many of her grandchildren's friends as a special grandma. Granny was extremely loved and will be deeply missed.
