Sandra Lee Ashbaugh Courtney, 70, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010 at her home in Laclede, ID. Memorial services were held on January 23rd at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Boise.

Sandy was born in Sheridan, WY to Donald and Mary Ashbaugh. She grew up in Richland, graduated high school in 1957 and attended the University of Washington. Sandy also worked for Hughes Airwest as a flight attendant.

She married Gene Courtney on November 25, 1961 in Boise at St. Michael’s Cathedral. Sandy and Gene raised their four children, while Gene’s work took them all over the United States. In April of 2007 they retired and moved permanently to Laclede, ID.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 48 years Gene Courtney of Laclede and four children; Kris and husband Manuel, Mike and wife Kari, Nicole and husband Brent, Elyse and husband John and 7 grandchildren Kyle, Heather, Alex, Courtney, Megan, Sami, and Chloe; and 1 great grandchild Ayden.
