MARK RUSSELL STAPLES ~ Class of 1982

Mark Russell Staples, age 46, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He was born December 26, 1963, in Sunnyside, WA, the son of the late Frank B. Staples of Richland, WA, and Gloria Staples of Bullhead City, AZ.
He attended Richland High School, graduating in 1982. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from November 1982 until December 1985. He attended the University of Oregon, graduating in 1993 with a B.A. in Business Administration, majoring in Management and Finance. He has lived and worked in Seattle, WA, since his graduation from U of O. In June of 2005, he received a Master of Business Administration/ Technology Management degree from the University of Phoenix, in Seattle, WA. He was currently employed as a Project Manager for AT&T in Seattle, WA.
Mark is survived by his mother, Gloria Staples, and her husband, Glenn Farley, of Bullhead City, AZ; one brother, Mike Staples of Pasco, WA; and two sisters, Kelly Staples ('83) of Vallejo, CA; and Kim Kavanagh and her husband Greg and nephew Frankie Kavanagh of Pasco, WA. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins. Last, but not least, his many beloved friends who helped or supported him during his arduous battle with gastric cancer.
