BARBARA BERNICE STOOKESBERRY CLUCK LONG ~ Class of 1960
April 1, 1942 - March 18, 2011
Barbara, age 68 of Kennewick, passed away unexpectedly on March 18th, 2011 at home. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa in 1942 to Irene and Harland Stookesberry. She moved to Richland in 1944 and graduated from Columbia High School in 1960.
Barbara was a longtime member of The American Legion, belonging to the Le Femmes.
Barbara enjoyed being with her family and friends and took great pride in caring for others. Her greatest joys of all were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed wintering in California with her late husband, Jim.
Barbara is survived by one sister, Sandy Lakey of Richland; two daughters, Sonia Gamet (Kevin) and Shelley Brinkley (Jerry); three grandsons, Joshua Rosas (LeighAnn), Jeremy Rosas (Yessica) and Mathew Mercer; four great-grandsons, Daniel, Andon, Brady and Bryce, all of Kennewick; plus numerous nieces, nephews and very dear friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie L. Long; her parents, Irene and Harland Stookesberry and brother, Harold Dean Stookesberry.
A memorial service honoring Barbara will be held Saturday, April 9th, 2011 at 1pm at The American Legion Post, #34 in Pasco.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The American Legion for their scholarship program in Barbara's name.
