BARRETT LYNN "BARRY" TOMLINSON ~ Class of 1960
1941 - September 1, 2011



Barry died in Portland, OR on September 1, 2011, after a brief fight with aggressive cancer. He is survived by his parents, sister and her adult children.

He was born in Kankakee, IL to Roy and Ethel Tomlinson. He graduated from Columbia High school in 1960 and from Reed College in Portland in 1964. He received his PhD from University of California Berkley in 1966. He lived in Santa Clara, CA and worked developing computer programs for scientific and commercial use.

Much of his spare time was spent supporting Science Buddies, tutoring immigrants, volunteering at Kaiser Permanente, and mentoring troubled youths through the Bill Wilson Center. His other interests included boy scouts, camping, and hiking.
