BRYAN R. SMITH ~ Class of 1971
June 18th, 1953 - August 16th, 2011

Bryan R. Smith, born June 18, 1953, age 58 of Roswell, GA passed away after a hard fought battle against Pancreatic Cancer on August 16, 2011.

Bryan received an M.B.A. from Wake Forrest University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from Oregon State University. In his career he displayed expertise as a medical device and healthcare service provider.

He was preceded in death by his father Norman L. Smith, Richland and his mother Freda Smith-Hogan, Newburg, OR.

He was survived by his wife of 30 years, Diane L. Smith, sons Justin Smith and Grant Smith of Roswell, GA, brother Jerry Smith ('66) (Sue), Benton City, WA, sister Shawna ('68) Jech (Steve), Grand View, WA, sister Katherine Smith ('73), Tualatin, OR, sister-in-law Debbie Godwin (Don), Mt. Dora, FL, sister-in-law Linda McCormick (Wayne Hutchins), Lewisville, NC, sister-in-law Judy Ward, Winston-Salem, NC, brother-in-law Randy Clark (Sandra), Winston-Salem, NC, as well as six nieces, four nephews, two great nieces, and four great nephews.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Northside Chapel and Funeral Home, Roswell, GA.

In lieu of flowers please donate blood and platelets to the American Red Cross or make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network via Bryan’s team page for the Purple Stride Atlanta 2011 event. Donations to Hospice in his name would also be greatly appreciated.
