MABLE KATHRYN "KATHY" HUDSON WILLIAMSON ~ Class of 1954
September 30, 1936 - April 29, 2012
~
Kathy was born to Alpha and Luther Hudson on September 30, 1936 in Marvell, AR. She moved to Richland when she was 8 years old, attended school at Lewis & Clark, Sacajawea, Carmichael, and graduated from Columbia High School in 1954.
She married Paul Davis in 1957 and they had two children Gary & Larry Davis. In 1965, she married James "Willie" Williamson.
Kathy was a loving, caring, and sensitive mother, wife, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her husband, sons, and family. Kathy was a generous person who did everything she could for any family member needing her help. She and Jim loved spending time together boating, relaxing at their summer cabin in Twin Lakes, ID, traveling, and being with family. Kathy was an avid animal lover who couldn't pass an animal without wanting to offer it a morsel of food from her purse. Caring for all her dogs during her lifetime was one of her greatest joys. She believed that "Whatever you are today, your children will become tomorrow."
Kathy began her long and fulfilling career in 1954 at age seventeen. She worked with General Electric at the Hanford Nuclear Works Project as a secretary, then went on to work for Battelle Northwest (1965-1970); Westinghouse (1970-1994). She retired in 1994 after 41 years at Hanford.
Kathy was preceded in death by her sister Mary Hudson, parents Luther Hudson, Alpha W. Hudson-Webb and step-father Ervin Webb.
She is survived by her husband Jim ('53), sons Gary ('77) (Karen) Davis and Larry Davis ('80), brothers Luther ('56) (Esther) Hudson, Kenneth (Chris) Webb and sister Gladys "Jackie" Perkins and grandchildren Marie, Amanda, Jason, Alison, Justin, and Amosean, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews and her dogs Riley and Ozzie.
Kathy attended the Richland Assembly of God church as well as other places of faith during her lifetime.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Richland on Friday, May 4th at 2pm, immediately followed by a reception at her home.
