CAROLYN FRANCIS HARRIS ~ Class of 1956
April 7th, 1938 - December 14th, 2012
On Friday, December 14th, 2012, while Carolyn was on her knees in prayer, the Lord gathered her peacefully in his arms and took her home.
She was born on a beautiful spring day, April 7th, 1938, in Sasakwa, OK. She moved with her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters to Richland in 1946.
She was a beautiful and strong woman both inside and out. She loved her children and family above all else. As a child and throughout her life, she always had a love for her dogs and bred and raised many champion Yorkies and Chihuahuas. Her Chihuahua "Swift Justice" was the #1 male Grand Champion in the US. Carolyn also bred many other champion dogs. As a merchant Marine, she spent many years in Alaska working. She was a gourmet cook and was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Carolyn was preceded in death by: husbands, Frank Eugene Wheeler and Anthony Campbell; son, Frank Eugene Wheeler Jr.; Parents, Joseph F. and Leona L. Harris; brothers, Robert Dean Harris ('55) and Michael Gene Harris ('64); and her granddaughters, Andrea Lynn Culverwell, Whitney Culverwell, and Valerie Diane Barcott.
She is survived by daughters, Debra Carol Ledford (John), Shelly Dale Shaw (Mike), Sandra Leona Culverwell (Jim); son Robert H. Ohashi (father, RH Ohashi, Sr.) and sisters, Nancy Jo Harris McDowell ('59), Minnie Sue Harris Anderton, Judith Anne Harris, and brother John Paul Harris; grandchildren, Tyler Ledford, John Barcott, Andy Culverwell, Chewy Rodriguez, and nine great-grandchildren.
