Annie Leona Briley Folta passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012, as a result of complications from kidney failure.

Leona (Lee to many of her friends and co-workers), was born in Webbers Falls, OK, on Valentine's Day, 1944, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 66 years, growing up with her sisters in Richland and graduating from Columbia High School in 1962. She worked as a Dental Assistant for a time and later worked as a Document Control Specialist at the Federal Building in Richland until she retired in March, 2012.

Leona was a devoted mother of five, who loved spending time with her family and would do anything for her kids and grandkids. She loved playing cards with family and friends. Leona was a big fan of old Westerns, the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners. She attended church with her daughter, Candice, at Prayer Watch Christian Center in Kennewick.

Leona is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Folta and her children: Richard Folta, Jr. (and Elena), Sheldon Parcell, Christopher Folta (and Krista), Tricia Parcell, and Candice Folta, as well as her 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Matthew, Ryan, Taylor, Rico, and Erika. Leona is also survived by her mother, Annie Oleta Briley, her sisters, Velma Briley Grove ('55), Louise Briley Judkins ('57), and Maudine "Dee" Briley Lewis ('66) and their families.

She is preceded in death by her father, Warren Briley (1912-2004) and her first husband, Terry Parcell.

A "Celebration of Life" Memorial will be held on October 28, 2012, at Kennewick Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 7105 West 10th Avenue, Kennewick, WA 99336 at 3pm in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a photo slideshow celebrating Leona's life and a potluck luncheon.
