Brian Corcoran - 2004

It is with tremendous sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Brian Patrick Corcoran. Brian's common denominator to all who knew and loved him was he "was always there" for them. His bond with family and close friends was unbreakable. Brian always took the time to make sure his guests were comfortable. His amazing Git-R-Done and No Regrets perspective transpired in everything he did.

Brian was born in Washington, D.C on May 30, 1946 and was raised in Richland. He found his love for the outdoors and met some of his true friends. He graduated from Gonzaga University in 1968, enlisted in the Army Advanced ROTC, where along with his best friend, found a way to get through it.

Brian was a 40 year resident of Anacortes, WA. His incredible love was for fishing, especially salmon as he was most happy being out on the water, especially saltwater. He took pride in his boats and shared his impetuous love for fishing with all that he knew. He lived each day honestly, honorably, and thoughtfully.

Brian's career was centered around operations management and food services. He retired in July, 2012, after 40 years with Sodexco, formerly Saga and the Marriott Corporations. Brian believed in an honest days work and expected that from others often stating, "You came here to work didn't you?" His second home in Kotzeboe, AK and the Red Dog Mines is also where his smile, dedication and work ethic will be most missed. He truly believed in living each day to the fullest.

Brian was preceeded in death by his parents Ed and Katherine Corcoran.

He is survived by his brother Grant Corcoran ('58), nieces Kerry Corcoran Hoffmann and Deirdre Corcoran Winkworth and nephew Ted Corcoran and their families, including 3 great nephews and 3 great nieces. He had countless friends, including John Corrado ('64), Gene Gilden and Craig Kolbe and their families.

There will be a Memorial Service for Brian in Anacortes, WA on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
2-5pm at the Majestic Inn, 419 Commercial Ave., Anacortes, WA 98221.
If there is anyone who would like to come, they can email Brian's niece, Kerry Corcoran, at mkcinca@yahoo.com, so she can keep a head count.
