Linda has moved to happier times even though she will be missed by many. Linda was a lifetime resident of Richland although she was born in Seattle because her mother thought that Kadlec looked like a barracks at the time. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1966. She was well known by her classmates and was elected female athlete of the year. She excelled in all sports.
Linda went to Washington State University where she received her bachelor's degree in 1970 in the field of recreation. During her years at Pullman, she formed lifelong friendships with five women. The six of them remained in close contact throughout her life and were affectionately known as "the six pack." Upon graduation, she returned to this area where she managed the Cosmos Angus lounge before she moved on to manage the Benton County Campfire Girls. After that, she began her own house painting business and was often found at the Richland Spudnut Shop in the mornings meeting with others and planning her day.
She met her husband, Mac, in 1987 and they were married in 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Phyllis, and her brother, Derry ('64).
She is survived by Mac and four stepchildren: Kary (Charles), David (Shelly), Michael (Adam), and Jim (Kate), five grandchildren: Colby, Debbie, Katie, Taylor and Morgan. She also leaves a special adopted sister, Jen.
Linda's ashes will be interned at the Granquist family plot, Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Mount Vernon, WA.
There will be a celebration of Linda's life at her home, 1026 Birch Ave., Richland, on May 26th at 4pm.
