VERNON EMERSON "VERN" HARRIS ~ Class of 1973
November 8, 1953 - March 14, 2012
Vernon Emerson Harris, 58, of Richland died March 14 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. He was born November 8, 1953 in Richland to Edward and Edith Harris. Vern was a 1973 graduate of Columbia High School and a life long Tri-City resident.
Vern was a dedicated outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a sports enthusiast and shared his love of baseball as a coach and umpire. One of his favorite pastimes was double-skunking his family and friends at a game of cribbage. Vern was a member of the Laborers Local Union 348.
Vern was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Ed ('65) and Keith ('67wb); and sister, Edith Harris Tadlock ('67).
Vern is survived by his daughters, Sharee and Renee Harris, whom he dearly loved; granddaughter, Harmony; sister, Marian Harris Schultz ('69); and special friend, Janice Harris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as many loyal and life long friends. His smile and kindness will be forever remembered.
