DAVID JAMES SIMPSON ~ Class of 1990
July 30, 1972 - January 25, 2012

David James Simpson, 39, of Richland, died January 25, 2012 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lansing, MI, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 32 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Skye Simpson, Cheney, WA; parents, George and Kathryn Simpson, Richland; sister, Karen (Ron) Klaus; nephew, Alexander, and niece, Kathryn, Vancouver, WA; and a large extended family.

He graduated from Richland High School in 1990 and attended Columbia Basin College. David waged a 26 year battle with chemical dependency and mental illness. He is loved for the person he is, and mourned for the boy he was and the man he could have been.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Shalom United Church of Christ, Richland.
