DORE EARLE TYLER, JR. ~ Class of 1953

Dore passed away on July 3, 2013 at his home in Richland. He was born February 14, 1936 in Lowell, MA. He moved to Richland in 1944 and graduated from Columbia High School in 1953. Later he moved to the Seattle area and came back to the Tri-Cities in 2006 to retire.
He was in the 87th infantry Regiment and served in Aschaffenburg, Germany for two years.
He held various jobs but his proudest career was obtaining a masters license and piloting a tug boat in the Puget Sound. He was a retired tug boat master in the Puget Sound. He owned a sailboat and spent much of his time sailing in Puget Sound both alone and with his family and friends.
Dore is survived by his sisters, Janet Tyler ('61) and Miriam Lane ('60); nephews Rick Ingham and Bill Bonner; nieces Lori Bartosh and Alicia Boyd; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dore and Alice. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be no formal services. A private family service will be held at a later date.
