Max, 77, of Yakima passed away peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2013 after a brief illness, with this daughter Kelly and sister Connie at his side.
Max was born April 21, 1935 in Corona, CA to Tom and Birdie Lambeth Hopson, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Columbia High School in 1954, where he participated in track, baseball and basketball.
In 1955 he joined Local 598 Pasco and worked as a pipefitter until he retired in 1989.
An avid sport enthusiast, he played minor league baseball in Yakima, bowled in many leagues, and played pool as recently as Valentine's Day with his team from Little Dutch Tavern.
He also enjoyed traveling to Richland to watch his grandsons play baseball and basketball for the Richland Bombers.
Beloved by family and many friends, he is survived by his children; daughters, Kelly (Tony) Dunn, Shelly Holsapple, Darsi Hilty and son, Max (Kay) Hilty; grandchildren, Katie, Kyle (Hahn), Haylee and Anthony (Dunn) Hayden and Mason (Hilty) and Samantha Holsapple; his loving sister, Connie Bunnell; niece Melissa (Patrick) Bunnell; nephew, Michael (Mary Ann) Bunnell; and great nephews and niece, Cody, Corbin and Kendal Bunnell.
Special friends Kevin, Nancy and John Evans, Jim Weaver, and Eric Wagner - Thank You! And many friends and family members around the county.
We will miss your laughter, your kind heart and spirit. GO DODGERS!!!
Graveside Inurnment was March 8, 2013 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
