THOMAS JAMES "TOM" SKELLY ~ Class of 1954
December 18, 1934 - November 3, 2013
Tom was born December 18, 1934, in Cohasset, MN, to Albert and Norma Skelly. He passed away on November 3, 2013, in Kennewick. Tom was the youngest of six children.
In October, 1952 Tom joined the United States Navy serving active duty until December, 1955. He then finished military service in the United States Navy Reserve until Octtober, 1960.
Tom was a well known and respected businessman in the Tri-Cities for many years. He retired in 1997. Tom was a very caring man, he would help anyone in need and never asked anything in return. Tom loved going to Seahawks football games, Tri-City American hockey games and Nascar races. Most of all Tom loved to be with family and friends whether BBQing and swimming in the back yard, golfing, camping, watching sports or enjoying a cold one at a local watering hole, he was a people person. Tom will be missed by family and numerous friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Albert and Norma; and siblings: Stanley, Wilbur, Russell, and Edna.
He is survived by wife Shirley, daughter Kathy Skelly ('76) Nitteburg (Bruce), stepchildren Julie Martel, Greg Tucksen (Loretta), Jeff Tucksen (Poppi), brother Richard, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no services per his request. Donations can be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center or Hospice in Tom's name.
