Frederick Paul Klute of Kennewick, WA died Thursday, April 11, 2013. Fred was born in Hammond, IN, on February 12, 1940, to Paul and Naomi Klute. Paul and Naomi moved their family to the Tri-Cities in 1943. Fred graduated from Columbia High School in 1958. After graduating he entered the military and was stationed all over the world. He was Honorably Discharged after serving 22 years in the Air Force as a munitions officer.
Fred spent his retirement in Kennewick. He was an avid model train enthusiast, member of the local model railroad club and volunteered for and was a part of Club 40. He was a great storyteller, animal lover and friend to all.
He is preceded in death by his father Paul Herman Klute and his mother Naomi Louise West Klute.
He is survived by his brother Terry Klute ('63) and his wife Elisabeth. His nephew Jon (Katie, Dillan and Alex), his niece Nicole Klute Reed (Matt, Clara, Olive and Calvin) and close friend William Scott Franklin and his family.
There will be a Military Grave Side Service Saturday, April 20th at 12:30pm at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. Reception to follow from 2pm to 5pm at JD Diner in West Richland
