BOMBER MEMORIAL
MURL W. COX ~ Class of 1961
November 3, 1943 - November 12, 2013
Murl W. Cox, age 70, of Edmonds, WA, was born November 3, 1943, in Liberty, MO and passed peacefully at Swedish Hospital in Seattle on November 12, 2013.
His infectious smile, quick sense of humor, and caring nature were a blessing to all of us. During his career he was a CPA and worked for Boeing, Ernst & Young, Moss Adams, and was self-employed for many years. He had many health challenges but he remained steadfastly optimistic. His last wish was honored by being accepted into the University of Washington Medical Research program. His earthly body will aid in research and future cures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Ralph & Virginia Fay Cox, and his brothers Leonard Roy Reynolds and Paul Edward Cox.
Mourning his loss are his beloved wife of 33 years, Jolene; daughters: Stephanie (Scott) Owen; Emily Caroline Cox; grandsons Wesley Scott, Spencer Roy, and Grant Christopher; siblings: Ralph (Gerry) Cox, and Karen Cox ('63) (Bob) Noland; sister-in-laws Patricia Reynolds and Christine Cox; father & mother-in-laws Butch & Dorothy Giesking; brother-in-law Donovan (Teri) Giesking; sister-in-laws Bonnie (Gary) Williams, Diane (Dave) Del Santro, and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews lucky enough to know him. Cinnamon, his devoted "therapy" dog, will miss him greatly.
Those wishing to honor his memory may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Lakeside School - McKay Chapel, at 11am, 14050 First Ave, NE, Seattle, WA 98125.
Future memorial markers are planned at the Columbia Riverfront Trailway in Richland, and the Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery.
