Daniel Larry "Danny"/"Catfish" Hooper died on November 3, 2013, in Richland, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Robert Hooper and Elizabeth Sullivan Hooper on February 22, 1945, in Portland, OR. Daniel moved to Richland with his parents as a child. He attended school in Richland, and graduated from Columbia High School in 1964.
In August of 1967, Daniel was drafted into the Vietnam War, and served there as a sergeant for two years, earning himself the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Laborers International Union of North America. Daniel spent his life as a laborer, doing road construction, and working for many years as a hydro seeder at Wildlands, Inc. in Richland.
Danny is proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Hooper.
He is survived by his sister, Cherie Leaton ('69); his children: Benjamin, Alicia (Bob) Kinzer, Dory, and Shelley; and grandchildren: Wyatt and Katie.
Funeral services was held at Christ the King Church in Richland on Saturday, November 9th.
