Sue passed away peacefully in her Benton City home on April 8, 2013. She was born in Richland on March 29, 1955, and lived there for most of her life.
She graduated from Columbia High School, aka Col-Hi, in 1973. After graduation she took a dental course and moved to Seattle as soon as the course was finished. She lived there for over 4 years working as a Dental Assistant before moving back to the Tri-Cities to start her carpentry career. She worked at Hanford and then traveled to California and Colorado. Finally she reached Journeyman status back here in the Tri-Cities. She
started to raise her family and then took a position at Fred Meyer Richland and Kennewick stores working in the nutrition center for 14 years.
Sue loved her children, friends and cats. She will be remembered as loving with a sweet heart, giving, peace loving, strong willed, artistic, loved music and we enjoyed her sweet laughter. Her home was filled with warmth. She had a way of placing things in just the right place.
She supported Cassidy in his music as well as going to his performances and was so proud of Delaney going off to college though she missed her like crazy.
She is survied by her 2 children: Cassidy and Delaney; her sister Kay Simpson ('75); her niece Jeanne Dunham-Blakeman; and her family; her 3 cats: Tyla, Sunny and Baby Girl.
She was preceded in the death of her mother Shirley Simpson and father Vern Simpson.
